14 August 2006 Newsletter

Greetings from the Icarus Theatre Collective!

Our recent Staged Reading went well, our website is… slowly improving, and we’re now focusing on expanding our company structure.

Read on for work opportunities and our upcoming season.  We also have three additional potential projects in the pipeline, but we’re keeping those a secret for the moment!  Stay tuned…

Passionate Producers sought! No experience necessary!

Icarus is looking to train and develop Producers, helping young artists grow into voracious entrepreneurs.

We’re also looking for experienced Producers.

Are you hungry, brave, and passionate about drama?

Do you want to find out if you have what it takes to become a brilliant Producer but don’t know where to begin?

Then write to contact

The Icarus Theatre Collective was founded two and a half years ago.  After successes over our past three plays including Critics’ Choices, dozens of rave reviews, and working with some of the best artists around, we now have the groundwork to launch ourselves to the next level.  Make no mistake, we are a small company, but we have heart and dreams to grow.

Expect no fee at first, but work with us to raise money for each production.

Several positions available.  We have several plays coming up and are looking to start a small consortium of Producers to get multiple projects going at once.  Could one of those people be you?

Must be willing to attend meetings on the first and third Saturday of every month in Marylebone (afternoons).

Please send a CV and cover letter to the email address above.  The cover letter is FAR more important than the CV.

For more information on our company, please visit www.icarustheatre.co.uk/index2.html or call Max on 077XX XXX XXX.

"perhaps merely quiet"
a staged reading of a new play by Sabrina Chapadjiev
directed by Max Lewendel

Welcome to the world of Savannah: Female, 19, Bi-polar I Disorder.
Most Recent Episode: Hypomanic.

We held this staged reading last month at RADA’s Foyer bar and South Hill Park Arts Centre.  We are very pleased to report that script development was helped immensely.  Thanks to those of you who came and helped us out.

Most acutely, we learned how we can develop the relationship between the two central characters.  We were also immensely encouraged by how well the surreal elements of the story were received and are excited to integrate these more throughout the story.

We are currently discussing the future of the project, how to develop the script into a full play, and what resources would be needed for a full production.

If you want to be involved, please email contact.
